project: sound installation

I designed this immersive sound installation to transform the concept of bodily presence into a physical, inhabitable space, creating an intimate encounter between sound and visitor.
The installation's centerpiece was a custom-built tent made with white T-shirts, deliberately chosen to evoke the human form while creating a translucent, womb-like sanctuary. Inside this textile architecture, a carefully positioned bluetooth speaker delivered a soundscape of intertwined heartbeats and breath patterns.
Visitors could either fully commit by entering the tent or engage by leaning into the entrance. This design honored different comfort levels with intimacy and accessibility while still delivering the core experience: a meditative reconnection with the fundamental rhythms of existence.
The installation ultimately reimagined the human body not as an object but as a space——a place of being, of dwelling, of experiencing——inviting participants to reconsider their relationship with their own physicality and the invisible but essential sounds that define our living presence.
Bathroom Garden

I created a multi-sensory sanctuary that transformed an ordinary bathroom into an immersive natural retreat through the deliberate orchestration of sound, light, texture, and scent.
At the heart of this installation is a dynamic soundscape, a sonic journey through a rainy garden developed in ProTools with specialized Audiosuite processing. The strategic ceiling-mounted bluetooth speaker maximized the bathroom's natural reverberance, allowing water sounds to cascade and envelop visitors from above while plant rustling and subtle wildlife elements created a three-dimensional sonic environment.
What elevated the experience was the holistic sensory approach. The rotating green mosaic light created ever-shifting dappled patterns reminiscent of sunlight filtering through leaves. Carefully positioned flora transformed the space visually while releasing subtle natural aromas. The unexpected tactile contrast of a grass-textured rug against bathroom tile created a physical boundary-crossing that reinforced the installation's transportive power.
The result was a fully experienced momentary escape that reminds us of the power of our environments over our physical and mental wellbeing.

While a student at USC, I crafted a sonic world for this animated piece from The Centre for Visual Arts using my voice as the primary instrument to build an entire soundscape.
Through recording, layering, and transformation in Pro Tools, I shaped vocal elements into a variety of textures and tones. What makes this soundscape particularly effective is how the vocal-based design creates a uniquely intimate connection with the animation. The inherently personal nature of these sounds establishes a distinctive sense of interiority.
The project demonstrates how creative constraints can spark innovation, creating a whimsical, voice-built world that brings animated visuals to vibrant life.
